Chemistry Reps Launch Chemistry Writing Competition
Our intrepid Chemistry Reps have launched ‘Elemental Soup’ – a chemistry creative writing competition!
Taking inspiration from our Pi-day Pi-em competition last term, the challenge is to come up with something written (a poem, a short piece of prose) where every word starts with the symbol of a chemical element.
Every entry will be rewarded with five house points and chocolate prizes will be awarded for the longest (most words) entry and most interesting entry, as well as a feature in our science department’s newsletter ‘The Franklin’ for both winning entries. An example sentence could be I(iodine) He(helium) H(hydrogen)er Ca(calcium)t.
The deadline for entries is Monday June 1st at 4 pm. Good luck everyone!
