"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Coronation Celebrations All Round!

Today we’ve been celebrating the coronation of King Charles III!

Senior School students came to school wearing red, white and blue while Junior School girls all wore regal headwear including some fabulous home-made tiaras! We all sat down to a special Coronation Lunch courtesy of our wonderful catering team, which included coronation chicken (of course), Yorkshire puddings, roast vegetables followed by trifle. Earlier in the week our Year 9 students had made and decorated Coronation biscuits as well as played a ‘pick out the jewel on the crown’ game.

The whole of Junior School enjoyed an afternoon tea accompanied by the Junior Chamber Orchestra in the sunshine. They also listened to Ms Bevan’s assembly where she explained some of the traditions and regalia involved in the Coronation and highlighted that before William the Conqueror, seven Saxon kings were crowned in nearby Kingston-Upon-Thames.

There were also numerous photo/selfie opportunities with the King and his guards in the Portrait Room and out on the Astro!

Finally, we can all look forward to a celebratory cup of tea in our special NHEHS Coronation Mugs over the weekend!
