‘I Love Where I Live’ – Archivist Mrs Broekmann Shares School History with Year 3
As part of their IC topic ‘I love where I live’, this week Year 3 enjoyed a talk from school librarian and archivist Mrs Liz Broekmann on the history of the school.
Pupils learnt how the school has changed and grown since its foundation in 1873 and how the logo has been refreshed, as well as discovering famous past pupils and what school life was like years ago. They handled items from past school uniforms, such as a straw boater and red shoe bag, took a trip to the portrait room to see the painting of founding headmistress Harriet Morant Jones, and had a quick peek in the senior school library.
The interactive session certainly brought the history of the school to life in a more tangible way, thank you Mrs Broekmann!
