On Tuesday 14th May, our athletics teams travelled to Lee Valley Athletics track to participate in the first round of the Track & Field Cup. The day started off rainy, with the track and field both quite wet when the teams arrived. However, this did not dampen the spirits, with the team getting a spot under the covers and getting ready to warm up.

Both teams had some fantastic performances on the day, with highlights in the junior team coming from Agnes in the hurdles, Sofia, and Alice in the 800m, Maria in the 1500m and Cosima in the high jump.

For the inter team, Minna had a fantastic hurdles race and managed to jump 1.59m in the high jump (also a personal best!). Adeife ran a speedy 100m and for the first time in many years, NHEHS had Rebecca and Iskra participating in the hammer throw!

The junior team finished first in the Junior Girls category, while the inter team finished second in the Inter Girls category. We now wait to see which Regional final we qualify for.
