New Head Girls Team Announced for 2023/24

Last week we announced our new Head Girls Team for 2023-24!

Earlier this term, Year 12s were invited to apply for the positions, and we received 29 amazing applications.  All applicants made two-minute presentations as a part of the HGT Hustings in front of their peers and members of staff,  before a school-wide vote (staff and pupils). The top candidates then had to take part in panel interviews with members of the Senior Leadership Team and outgoing Head Girl, Charlotte. After a tense weekend the final six were announced to the school on the 15th May when our outgoing team for 2022-23 handed over their HGT reins to our awesome new team of Lewhat, Gen, Abbi, Lydia, Flo and Games Captain Anna.

Lewhat, Head Girl

What subjects are you studying?

Maths, English Literature, Politics, PRE (Philosophy, Religion and Ethics)

Tell us something surprising about yourself?

I love singing in the gospel choir at my church in Notting Hill, football, scented candles and cinnamon porridge.

What would you like to achieve in your new role?

In my role as Head Girl, I want to increase pupils’ self confidence by endorsing public speaking.

 

Gen, Deputy Head Girl

What subjects are you studying?

Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science, Latin

Tell us something surprising about yourself?

I love netball, sunset runs and crunchy peanut butter. A surprising fact about me is that I eat the entire apple, core and all. I’ve even been known to eat the stalk.

What would you like to achieve in your new role?

As part of the HGT, I want to celebrate the achievements of students across all school years and help continue to foster the supportive atmosphere at NHEHS.

 

Abbi, Deputy Head Girl

What subjects are you studying?

Maths, Chemistry, Biology

Tell us something surprising about yourself?

I love listening to vinyl, volunteering, and coaching cricket. A surprising fact about me is that I cut my own hair.

What would you like to achieve in your new role?

I’d like to help further develop volunteering initiatives across the school.

 

Lydia, Deputy Head Girl

What subjects are you studying?

Physics, Maths, English Literature

Tell us something surprising about yourself?

I love Taylor Swift, reading, playing tennis, and buying pre-loved finds at charity shops.

What would you like to achieve in your new role?

I want to bring students together, blur the lines between year groups and further amplify our fantastic community spirit.

 

Flo, Deputy Head Girl

What subjects are you studying?

English Language, Maths, PRE

Tell us something surprising about yourself?

I love hosting dinner parties, dancing, snowboarding and diet coke.

What would you like to achieve in your new role?

I’m looking forward to keeping up the Big/Little Sister school tradition and supporting my Year 7 Little Sister throughout this school year.

 

 

Anna, Games Captain

What subjects are you studying?

Maths, Computer Science, Chemistry

Tell us something surprising about yourself?

I love music concerts, playing sport in the sun, cycling along the river on the way home from hockey practice, and the feel of a new hockey stick.
