By Dr. Snook, Head of Classics
We took part in the UK Linguistics Olympiad (UKLO) in February, with ten girls entered from the Sixth Form for the advanced exam and four girls in Years 10 and 11 for the intermediate paper. As part of the UKLO, competitors have to solve linguistic data problems by using logical thinking and demonstrating an aptitude for language analysis.
In the intermediate paper, Gen P and Vysali S received Bronze certificates and Korina S-N earned a Silver certificate.
In the Advanced category, Li An T and Chloe B received Bronze certificates, Ruby H and Amber D-J won Silver awards and Lizzie N and Aliyyah T were awarded Gold certificates and qualified for Round Two which will take place later this week.
Congratulations to all taking part and good luck to Lizzie and Aliyyah!
