"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

Reserva Duplicada: ¡Una experiencia exitosa!

By Minna W, Year 10 Journalist Leader

On Thursday 18th January, Spanish students from Years 7-10 were entertained by the Onatti Theatre company, who performed a play in Spanish entitled Reserva Duplicada (Double Booking). The play had a very entertaining storyline, talented actors and included audience participation!

In Reserva Duplicada, couple Carlota and Carlos book an Airbnb house to spend a relaxing weekend in, but another couple, Paloma and Antonio, book the same Airbnb, and for the same weekend! The storyline involves many mishaps and laughs along the way, especially when Carlos realises that their Airbnb has been double booked by Paloma, who actually is his ex girlfriend!

The theme and language were perfectly pitched, and the use of visual clues really helped us to understand the play properly. The whole experience was extremely useful, and really helped to boost our language skills. The funniest moment in the experience, however, was during the questions after the show, when an enthusiastic student asked if the two actors were related in real life. When they told us that they were, in fact, a couple, their answer prompted a huge ‘aww!’ from the audience!

Thanks so much to the Spanish Department for organising such a fun afternoon!
