Sports Update – January 20th 2023

Team/Performance of the Week:

w/c January 9th – The U13A Hockey team played exceptionally well last week and rounded off an impressive display against Highgate with a 1-0 win.

w/c January 16th – Alex D won the 1500m freestyle at the Middlesex County Swimming Championships. She also medaled in two other events.

Athletics

U12A athletics team finished second in the Borough finals of the Indoor Athletics Sportshall competition in Greenford on 9th January.

Hockey

Our U12B and U12C enjoyed a win (4-2) and draw (2-2) against the Godolphin & Latymer C and D teams respectively on 9th January with MVP for the B team, Erin L and Sophie R for the C team. The U13A team won 1-0 vs Highgate (home) with MVP Lily H with the B team losing 0-2 to the Highgate A team (MVP Alice O).

On 16th January our U12A team took the win 3-1 home to Francis Holland, Regent’s Park (MVP Arabella B) while the U12Bs won by an impressive 7-1 margin against their B team (MVP Jess E). Our U13A team won 3-1 away against St Augustine’s Priory on the same date (MVP Abi F). The next day saw our U15A team lose narrowly 2-3 to St Benedict’s away (MVP Zoe D). On 19th January our U16A team won 3-1 away at St Augustine’s (MVP Hope G).

Netball

The U13E team enjoyed an 11-6 win away at Twyford CofE High School’s C team (MVP Kwanitah J P) while the U13F won 7-0 vs Twyford’s B team (MVP Hana C), both on 9th January.

A busy week last week for the U15s saw three defeats, with the A team losing 12-14 to Godolphin & Latymer (H), MVP Morven P and then the next day losing away at St Helen & St Katharine in the fourth round of the SistersnSport National Cup (MVP Morven P). The U15B team also lost to Godolphin & Latymer, 5-9 (MVP Zahara H).

Coming up next week we are looking forward to taking part in the Lady Taverners Indoor Cricket Tournament at Lord’s (U12s), the Middlesex Schools Cross Country at Harrow, where some of our students are representing the borough of Ealing and also the GDST Swimming Rally in Guildford.
