Tune in to Ten Talented Musicians’ Teatime Concert
Ten of our musicians treated us to an excellent Teatime Concert on Thursday afternoon in the Recital Hall. Miss Dunne led the concert, which gave the opportunity for girls from all years and levels to perform a solo piece that they have been learning. Some girls are due to play these pieces at their ABRSM exams this week.
Year 7’s Meher opened the concert with Handel’s Allegro: Fourth movement from Sonata F on flute, before we were taken on a wonderful musical journey with pieces from all over the world and instruments including the bassoon, clarinet, violin and piano, while Sara sang a moving solo of the Irish folksong Cockles and Mussels.
The lovely afternoon of music ended on a high with a superb unaccompanied performance on flute by Year 7’s Poppy with The Twisted Tango.
Sadly, parents and friends were unable to join us due to the Covid-19 restrictions, but we were able to stream the concert live via our Music YouTube channel.
Well done to all who performed and good luck in your forthcoming exams!
