UK Parliament Week at Junior School
By Noushi and Lilia, Year 6
On Thursday, the team captains and school councillors delivered a virtual assembly to the whole school all about UK Parliament Week which has been taking place this week.
UK Parliament Week is an annual festival that aims to inspire interest in parliament, politics and democracy and it encourages young people and the public to engage with the UK’s democratic system. During half term, we researched facts and we learnt a lot of things that we did not know before. We then created a PowerPoint presentation and flash cards with facts on them to help us remember what to say.
The presentation covered: Laws, Constituencies, MPs, House of Commons, House of Lords, Fun Facts and a Quiz! We then had a lot of fun recording our first online assembly!
We worked really hard on the presentation and we hope the Junior School enjoyed it and learnt something new!
