"We believe that being part of a community matters, it involves reaching out to volunteer, raising funds for causes we care about, and sharing our spaces to build meaningful relationships. These collaborations are mutually enriching and enable our students to create connections beyond the school gates."

US Universities Information Evening

By Miss Catherine McHenry, Head of Psychology and Deputy Head of Sixth Form

Last week we were delighted to hold our US Universities information evening, which was open to all girls in Years 9-12 who were interested in studying in the US.

The event was designed to give students an overview of why they might choose to apply to a US University, and what you need to know if you do. We welcomed Lisa Mortini, a representative of New York University, who spoke about what NYU are looking for in an applicant, as well as more broadly how US universities view applications.

We were also very fortunate to have Simon Lewis of UES Education joining us. Simon has experience of both the US and UK university systems, and covered the differences between the British and the American systems, factors to consider when choosing a college, what is involved in making an application, and the key dates for applications. UES Education delivers programs to support students applying for university in both the UK and America. The programs cover SAT and ACT guidance and practice as well as information, advice on college selection, the application process, how to apply for financial aid and scholarships.

A very informative evening, which we hope has inspired our students to consider studying in the US at some stage in their future careers.
