Year 12 Impress with Outstanding EPQ Presentations
On Wednesday 19th June, 40 of our Year 12 students presented their Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) projects to an audience consisting of their peers, teachers and parents, who asked questions and showed their support.
The range of topics was incredibly broad and included subjects such as ‘Influences on Science Fiction Literature,’ ‘The Effect of AI on the Visual Arts’; ‘Personality Traits of Investment Bankers’; ‘The Use of AI in Cancer Diagnosis’; ‘Franco’s Effect on Art during his time in power’; ‘Independence in the British Caribbean Territories’; ‘Guerrilla Tactics in the Sri Lankan Civil War’ and ‘The Development of Certain Traits in Monozygotic Twins.’
An EPQ is an independent research project aimed at sixth formers that involves either writing a 5,000 word essay or creating a product, and must be accompanied by research, a written report and a 30-minute presentation to be assessed by a supervisor.
“The amazing feedback received is a testament to the hard work of the girls over the course of Year 12,” says Mr Hegarty, who oversaw EPQs this year.
Congratulations to all the EPQ candidates who took part, having worked incredibly hard on such a diverse range of topics over the academic year.
