Year 5 & 6 Choir Captivate Audience at Memory Lane Cafe
Yesterday our Year 5 and 6 choir walked over to nearby St Barnabas’ Church to sing for some of the older people who go to Church on Thursdays there. The group gather together over a cup of tea to talk and socialise
Research indicates that listening to music from the past can help retrieve stored memories and trigger recollections.
Our audience enjoyed a variety of music sung by the girls, including songs by the Beatles, Elton John, Danny Wilson and a very popular rendition of ‘I got rhythm’ from the movie An American in Paris, which had toes tapping all around the church!
Mr Sole, Head of Junior Music, followed up his performance of ‘The Northern Lights of Aberdeen’ with another Scottish traditional song, ‘Will ye go, lassie, go?’
We look forward to returning to the Memory Lane café in the autumn term with our choirs!
