NHEHS Launches “Connections” Series of Talks for Local Community
We are delighted to announce the launch of ‘Connections’ – a new series of talks which aims to bring together our wider community to hear from inspiring speakers and have an opportunity to connect.
We hope that by hosting a range of inspiring speakers to talk about some of the significant issues in society today, we will be able to connect further with students, parents, local schools, alumnae and neighbours.
Our first speaker is Baroness Patience Wheatcroft, who will be discussing with our Headmaster Matthew Shoults the following topics: Journalism, Reporting and Fake News in the 21st century, before answering questions from the audience.
Baroness Wheatcroft spent most of her career as a journalist. She started writing about business for several national newspapers and launched a specialist trade paper, ‘Retail Week’. For nine years she was Business and City Editor of The Times, where she also wrote a weekly column on broader social and political issues. She went on to become editor of The Sunday Telegraph and then Editor of The Wall Street Journal Europe. She left full-time journalism in 2011 when she became a life peer, sitting as a Crossbencher.
Doors will open at 6pm and the discussion will start at 6.30pm. We expect the event to finish at 8.00pm.
Please book your tickets here.
The ticket price is a suggested donation of £10.00 which will go into our Bursary Fund, so that we can increase the number of bursary places we can offer to students at NHEHS.
