With over 130 clubs, the choice is yours to find your passion!

Step outside the classroom and you will find limitless opportunities for students to develop their talents, find new interests, make new friends and have fun. We encourage you to broaden your horizons and find new passions.

Students can excel in a sports team or play for fun, perform in a drama production or take a role backstage, immerse themselves in the musical life of the school or join one of a host of clubs and societies – or if we haven’t thought of it yet you can start a new one!

There’s a mix of lunch-time and after-school activities and exactly what is on offer changes each term. Staff, as well as Sixth Formers, lead clubs and at the beginning of term the School runs an ‘Co-curricular Fair’ which is the chance to encourage sign-ups to clubs. This is a buzzy date in the school calendar with an afternoon packed with activity.

Special Interest Clubs

There are over 70 special interest clubs to select from and each year new clubs are introduced. From languages to calligraphy, from activism to coding – a huge range of topics are covered. Some examples include: Amnesty International, Debating, Geog Soc, Dissections, Coup Club, Horrible Histories, Hans Woyda, First Aid, Tycoon, Economics, Ealing Teen Read, Astrophysics, Sapere Aude, German Soc, Pi Club, Python Coding, Bridge, Informatics Olympiad, Classics Masterclass, Medsoc, LGBTQ+ – and there are many more!

Sport

There is a strong focus on Sport for All at Notting Hill & Ealing and with a choice of over 45 clubs. This covers team sports including Netball, Hockey, Football, Cricket, Waterpolo, Badminton and Dance as well as individual sports such as Trampolining, Indoor Rowing, Fencing, Kickboxing, Gymnastics, Taekwondo, Yoga and Swimming in addition to fitness based clubs such as Strength & Conditioning. There is always something active to participate in.

Music

In music alone, the choice of 25 clubs or groups includes a wide range of styles and groups including Acapella, Piano Duos – as well as Trios, Choirs (Chamber, Lower School Chamber), Orchestras (Session, Symphony, Chamber), Conducting, Film Music, Jazz and Rock Bands, Bassoon Quartet, Flute Ensemble, Grade 8 Aural in addition to bands formed to perform in specific school productions.

Drama & Art

From performance to artistic expression, our drama and art departments offer an exciting range of opportunities. Unique to Notting Hill & Ealing High School is Backstage Pass – which has three levels offering the chance for students from all ages to get involved in all technical as well as production aspects of theatre. Our 360 drama studio enables direct hands-on access to technical staging and lighting as well as access to set design and make-up. Performance focused students have access to Drama Club, LAMDA and also additional rehearsals for school productions too.

An inspiring range of creative Clubs include a weekly Art Club as well as a History of Art Club, Design Technology, Film, Photography as well as practical art and craft.

Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme is a programme of practical, cultural and adventurous activities designed to aid the development of young people. There are three levels of award: Bronze, Silver and Gold. To complete the Award each student must undertake: volunteering in the local community, pursue a skill or hobby and take part in physical recreation. They are also required to plan, train for and complete a self-sufficient expedition camping in tents – which tend to be in beautiful areas of the UK.
